A Wild Adventure - Exploring Parc Omega

Nestled in the outskirts of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, is a sanctuary where Canada's wild beauty comes to life: Parc Omega. This winter, I was able to experience this wildlife haven during my stay in Mont-Tremblant, and it was truly amazing.

Upon arrival, you receive a warm welcome and a map explaining where everything in the park is and what you can expect. You can then drive up to the park house for refreshments (also where you can purchase bags of carrots) or head right onto the 12km car trail. As we began the car trail, we were immediately greeted by elk and deer. Although you can often see deer roaming around the streets in Tremblant, it was a surreal moment when we were face to face with them, feeding them carrots while they gathered around our vehicle.

One of the highlights for me was encountering the huge Bison. Towering beside our truck, these animals are much larger than you may expect. Driving further we crossed paths with beautiful foxes, moose, boars, and the near endangered Przewalski horses.

Yet, it was the grey wolves that stole my heart. Throughout the trail, you can walk to a wolf observation area that offers a glimpse into their natural habitat, allowing us to watch their natural behaviours up close. Attending one of the daily shows, a guide shared insights into the wolves' lives, their pack dynamics, and even fed them, creating an awesome experience that I could have watched for hours on end.

Beyond the wildlife encounters, Parc Omega offers a variety of activities for all ages and interests. From animal presentations to walking trails, picnic areas to farm animals, there's something for everyone to enjoy all year-round. The park even offers unique accommodations where you can observe and sleep in complete immersion with the wolves - a definite must on my bucket list during my next visit.

Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a family seeking an adventure, or just looking for something to do for the day, this park offers an experience I recommend to all. If you’re staying in Mont-Tremblant, make sure to add Parc Omega to your must-visit list!
